Busby Poll Question: “Will the Philippines Be The Next South Africa?”
July 18th, 2008(While I was taking my break awhile ago, my friends and I have talked about this question and I thought that it would serve as a good poll question for the Busby SEO Challenge.)
To the enthusiasts of Busby SEO Challenge, it is no longer a mere reality. With the Philippines’ economic situation at hand, the time might come that poverty among the residents of the country would be the same as those living in South Africa. Not after the goal of discriminating people in South Africa, let us all face it, the Philippines is becoming poorer and poorer every single day. With the unwavering increase in prices of all the primary and necessary products consumed by the people, they could no longer afford to buy even a kilo of rice for their daily meals. The country seems to undergo a major shift faster than what’s expected. And with its’ current situation many people living in the country and those coming from different countries in the world cry out the question — “Will the Philippines Be The Next South Africa?”
This is a very sad question to answer. Even though the Philippines is considered as a third-world country, it undoubtedly fought and struggled very hard just to have a strong and stable economy. There is no doubt that previous administrations and the one governing at present deals with the dilemma at all cost for the benefit of the whole nation. However, with the crisis happening worldwide today, it seems that both the country and its government must strive more and push harder than the usual. Regardless of all the problems challenging the nation, many are still happy to see that Filipino people do not entertain the words “giving up.” This is a trait that they possess at all times even though difficult hardships and struggles come their way. And many agree to that. What’s happening right now whether it’s not in the Philippines or somewhere else, no individual living in the world should lose hope. But if complicated circumstances allows it to happen, time might permit that the Philippines might be the next South Africa. May God forbid.
(Now that is a question I leave to all Busby SEO Challenge readers…what do you think?)
